EPA RCRA Update for Large and Small Quantity Hazardous Waste Generators

Alexander Valdez

Drum of Hazardous Waste

The EPA has updated its regulations for hazardous waste generators under the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA), including changes to the electronic manifest (e-Manifest) system. As part of this update, all large and small quantity hazardous waste generators are now required to register on the EPA’s RCRAInfo website (rcrainfo.epa.gov) by December 1, 2025.

Initially, the registration deadline was set for January 22, 2025. However, because modifications to the e-Manifest system are still in progress, the EPA has extended the deadline to December 1, 2025. This extension allows additional time for the system to be fully updated.

In the meantime, hazardous waste generators are advised to continue following their current processes until the e-Manifest system modifications are complete.
